Introduction to Mechanics

Introduction to Mechanics

As a lecturer at San Jose State University, I had the opportunity to work with students in their introduction to mechanics lab course for Scientists and Engineers: Physics 50 Lab. This is a calculus based course. Through my various years helping the students in this course, I developed the following notes incorporating the background needed for students to perform their corresponding laboratory work during our lab meeting.

Significant Figures& Uncertainty

Vectors

Discussion of Experimental error using Free Fall and Newton's Laws Labs

Friction

Conservation of Energy

Conservation of Momentum

Ballistic Pendulum

Rotational Motion

Angular Momentum & Rotational Kinetic Energy

Torque and Equilibrium

Review of Mechanics
